Our Trip To West Point by Caleb

My Dad and I went with the Boys Brigade from church to visit West Point.  Jayden, my friend, and his grandpa picked us up and then we drove to West Point.  West Point is an Army College.  The first thing we did was went to the museum.  Guess what they have?  There was a three hundred year old sword, guns (boom, boom, boom, boom, boom) and an Irish tank.  We then had dinner, went to chapel and then went to a hockey game.  I loved the hockey game!  After the game we had a long drive home.  I got to stay up until after midnight.  It was a great day.  I hope my Dad and I can go again soon.  Maybe if my Papa comes to visit, we will take him there too.

One of the displays you could touch--replicas of Revolutionary War guns.

An actual U.S. Army Jeep.

One of the rooms in the museum that had Jeeps, tanks, bombs, and all kinds of weapons.

Our New Church by Katie

This is our first blog.  I’m excited, are you?  My dad is the new Senior Pastor at Lafayette Federated Church.  The church is on a small mountain.  Here are some pictures.

There are a lot of kids in the church.  There have been a lot of people sick since we moved here so I don’t think we have met them all yet.  We also have a kid’s choir.  Kelsie and I sing in the kid’s choir.  It is fun!  If there is a kid’s choir near you, you should go, too.

Homeschool From Our Dogs' Perspective by Kelsie

Think of homeschool this way:  you get to play, run around, and snooze all day long.  This is reality, but not for us…for our dogs.  Today I would like for you to meet two homeschool dogs, Scooby and Snowflake.

Scooby-Doo and Snowflake

They have tons of fun.  The get to get all their energy out, then snooze.  I wish I could have all that fun during homeschool.  But as they say, work before play.  But for dogs…play all day!

Homeschool--Robb Style by Kelsie

Since we have moved to New Jersey, school has changed a lot.  In Missouri we went to St. Paul Lutheran School, but now that we have moved to New Jersey, we homeschool.  Homeschool is a lot of fun.  You can do what is right for your family.  You can make it as long as you want.  We begin at 8:15 in the morning and are usually finished by 1:30 in the afternoon.  Also, you can decorate the homeschool room however you want.  Here is a picture of what our homeschool room looks like.

Our Homeschool Room

You don’t have to decorate like we did.  You can also add activities to your day like music, art, P.E. and tons of more.  You can also take tons of field trips to places like New York City, Washington DC, Hershey, PA or anyplace you want.  Katie is going to tell you more about our recent field trip to Washington DC.  It’s been fun to catch up with you.  See ya next time.  I hope to be writing about New York City SOON!

Home Sweet Home by Caleb

We are finally unpacked in our new home in New Jersey.  I like our new home.  Our condo is a bit bigger and has enough room for our dogs.  It has three floors.  We have two large closest that connect downstairs and that is our favorite place for our clubhouse.  I interviewed my sisters.  Katie likes our new home.  Kelsie likes our new home and our yard.  We see deer in our yard almost everyday.  Last week we saw six deer.  When we go near them they just stare at us.  Scooby-Doo likes our new home too.  He also likes to join us for home school.  The only bad thing since moving here is Dad broke the mirror by accident and we have had to go to Wal-Mart a lot.

Welcome to the Trio's Tribune

Welcome to The Trio’s Tribune…Blog Style!  Since our move to New Jersey about one month ago, we have started home schooling.   Every week we use at least one afternoon to do some writing.  We had initially planned to send out a monthly newsletter to keep our friends and family up-to-date on what we have been doing. However, after looking into the cost of copies and postage (because the kids wanted to send one to EVERYONE), we decided it might be better to post our writings to a blog. The kids are very excited about their blog and are hoping you enjoy the stories that they are going to share.  Please feel free to make comments…they LOVE hearing from all of you.  Thank you to everyone who has sent them emails.  We have a computer time everyday where they are taking an online typing class.  They always check their email and they have loved all the emails you have sent.  I will try to add to the blog occasionally, but most of what you read on the Trio’s Tribune….Blog Style will be original writings by the trio themselves.  Hope you enjoy!
